Random Trivia For This Title:

  • In one Halloween episode, Amy (Mayim Bialik) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) are brainstorming couples-themed costumes, in which to dress up. Sheldon has a list of their suggestions written on a whiteboard, and while his half of the board has various genre characters listed, Amy's half has mostly romantic couples. The only exception is a listing that reads "Blossom and Joey", a reference to the title character Mayim Bialik (Amy) portrayed in [Blossom], and that character's brother.
  • The Launch Acceleration: The gas Leonard brings to Penny is Sulfur Hexafluoride. It is 6 times denser than air, thus causing the 'Darth Vader' voice. It is an inert gas and safe to breathe in small quantities.
  • The Russian Rocket Reaction: At Wil Wheaton's party one of the background guests was D.C. Fontana, a writer for [Star Trek] (TOS, TNG, and DS9).
  • The Russian Rocket Reaction: The sword that is featured in the opening shot was an actual sword from the series "Game of Thrones." It was valued at $10,000 and Johnny Galecki was reluctant to wield it.
  • The Good Guy Fluctuation: The sketch that Leonard claims was drawn by Jim Lee was in fact drawn by the famous comic book artist at the show's request.
  • The Rothman Disintegration: This is the first time Star Trek: Voyager has been mentioned in the show. It is odd that it hasn't been mentioned previously, given that co-creator' Bill Prady used to work on the show.
  • The Flaming Spittoon Acquisition: Amy expresses her contempt for comic books to Sheldon, saying they are "lame-o". However the actress who plays her, Mayim Bialik, has been quoted as saying she was raised on comic books and loves science fiction.
  • The Transporter Malfunction: One reason that Leonard Nimoy did not appear live as himself is that on the show he has a restraining order against Sheldon Cooper.
  • The Hawking Excitation: In one review Stephen Hawking was complemented on his comic timing.
  • The Good Guy Fluctuation: Alice (Courtney Ford) jokes that she is from Superman's home planet of Krypton. In real life, Ford is married to Brandon Routh, who played Superman in Superman Returns.
