1. | Heat waffle iron | 2. | Beat 2 eggs in bowl until the whites and yellows are mixed. | 3. | Add remaining ingredients and beat until smooth. | 4. | For each waffle, pour the batter from cup onto the center of the hot waffle iron. (Use about 2/3 cup batter in a 7-inch round waffle iron or about 1 1/3 cups batter in a 9-inch square waffle iron.) | 5. | Cook about 5 minutes or until steaming stops. | 6. | Remove the waffle carefully with fork. Serve with butter and syrup. | * If using self-rising flour, omit the baking powder and salt. *Variation — Blueberry Waffles: Follow recipe for waffles except--sprinkle 2 tablespoons blueberries over the batter for each waffle as soon as it's been poured onto the waffle iron. |
