Bagels


2c.Flour
1Tbsp.Sugar
1tsp.Salt
3/4c.Warm Water
1 1/2tsp.Active Dry Yeast

1.Dissolve the yeast in the water.
2.Add flour, sugar and salt.
3.Mix well until dough forms a ball in your hand.
4.Roll dough into 6 snakes about 10" long each.
5.Press ends tightly together to form a doughnut shape.
6.Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
7.Place bagels in the boiling water for 2 minutes each.
(The longer they boil, the chewier they are in the end.)
8.Remove from the water and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
9.Bake at 350° F for 20 minutes until golden in color.

Variation: Use half all-purpose and half whole wheat flour. Add a teaspoon of cinnamon. 1/4 cup of raisins and an extra tablespoon of sugar for Cinnamon Raisin Bagels.
