Synopsis: Two kids will do anything to not have to spend their holiday with their grandfather, even pretend to be kidnapped.


Reaction: A bit silly, but Don Knotts is very funny.

Random Trivia For This Title:

  • Don Knotts said that one day, while he was filming scenes for this project in the San Francisco airport, a director approached him and said he would like to cast him in a more dramatic film one time. Although this never happened, Knotts said he was flattered by the offer. The director that suggested this idea to Don Knotts, was [?] Sam Peckinpah.
  • A picture of "Herbie", aka The Love Bug (1968) doing a wheelie is on the wall in Bert and Duke's living room among other racing pictures. Don Knotts, (Bert) later co-starred as Herbie's mechanic in Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo (1977), with Dean Jones.
  • First of two movies pairing Don Knotts & Darren McGavin. The two later co-starred in another Disney production, Hot Lead and Cold Feet (1978). Both, Don Knotts & Darren McGavin died within a few hours of each other on Friday/Saturday, February 24th/25th, 2006.
