Random Trivia For This Title:

  • Richard Jeni considered this the worst movie of all time, and built a substantial portion of his stand-up comedy act around it.
  • Roy Scheider was offered a cameo, but declined, stating, "Satan himself could not get me to do 'Jaws' part 4". Reportedly, if Scheider had accepted the bit part, the shark would've killed his character at the start of the movie. The end result has Scheider in this movie through archive footage from Jaws (1975) that was inserted during some scenes.
  • This is one of Michael Caine's notorious "paycheck movies", along with The Swarm (1978), Ashanti (1979), Beyond the Poseidon Adventure (1979), The Island (1980), The Hand (1981) and Blame It on Rio (1984). When Caine was asked about this movie in an interview, he answered, "I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific."
