  • Goldie Hawn's "Giggly Girl" was a crossover character she successfully portrayed when she went on to appear in [Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In].
  • Even though Democratic Renssaeler Bower, played by Walter Brennan was politically opposed to his son Republican Calvin Bower, played by Buddy Ebsen, both actors were, in real-life, confirmed Republicans.
  • The song {Ten Feet off the Ground} was one of two songs from the film sung and released by Louis Armstrong in 1968.
  • According to the DVD commentary, Lesley Ann Warren made the mistake of having her hair cut short (a la 'Twiggy') by her future husband during filming.
  • Bing Crosby was offered the Walter Brennan role, but Disney balked at his insistence on a percentage of the box office receipts.
  • Walter Brennan portrays Buddy Ebsen's father. In real-life, Brennan was only fourteen years older than Ebsen.
  • Goldie Hawn's film debut.
  • Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, companions since 1983, both appeared in this 1968 film. They weren't any sparks yet during the filming of this movie. Goldie was 23 and Kurt was only 17.
